How does a private tour work?
The whole tour is yours: your own group, your own guide, on a date and time you choose. No strangers.
How long is the tour, and how much walking is involved?
The tour lasts for about two hours, we walk at a chill pace around the Old Town. The walk is around 2.5km / 1.5 miles. Bring comfortable shoes!
Where do we meet?
We arrange the meeting point with you when you book, so it suits where you're staying or want to start.
What will I see?
You will visit both Victoria Street and Greyfriars Kirkyard, with the headstones whose names are said to be the inspiration behind some names in the Harry Potter books. You will walk past George Heriot's School, the McEwan Hall, The Elephant House and many more iconic locations. But no more spoilers! Throughout the walk we are careful to separate what is documented from what is simply a good story.
