Is it really free?
It's a tip-based tour: you join for free and, at the end, pay whatever you thought the walk was worth. Most guests who enjoy it tip around £10 to £15 per person. Our guides work hard to make it worth every penny.
How long is the tour, and how much walking is involved?
The tour lasts around 90 minutes at a chill pace through the Old Town. Bring comfortable shoes!
Where do we meet?
At Bakehouse Close on the Canongate (EH8 8DD). Please arrive five minutes early as the tour departs on time.
What will I see?
We won't spoil too much, but expect to discover spots that appeared in Avengers: Infinity War, Trainspotting, One Day, Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, Outlander and many more.
Do I need to book?
Yes! The tour only runs when there are enough bookings. If your group size or your plans change, you can always modify your booking straight from the confirmation email.
Which language is the tour in?
English and Spanish run as two separate groups, each with its own guide. You choose when you book.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, families are very welcome!
What if there's bad weather?
Edinburgh's unpredictable weather is part of the fun. We only cancel tours due to extreme weather conditions. Come prepared!
